Gorse Hill, Stretford

Active issue
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Trafford Council has issued the site with a Temporary Stop Notice and residents have noticed a massive reduction in the noise, dust and HGV traffic. This is effective until 24th August 2026. At that point it will be reviewed as to what happens next. Activity on the RAC site is allowed to continue (in preparation for the new homes) but this phase will be coming to an end very soon.

Thomas Street in Gorse Hill, Stretford is currently the site of excessive noise, dust and heavy vehicle traffic. At the old Gas Tower site, Cheshire Soils & Aggregates Limited and Grabs R Us have set up their operations and have said it will be their permanent home.

They bring construction debris to the site, where they crush and process it to resell. It causes dust, noise, debris and traffic from heavy lorries. The business activities are completely inappropriate for the location and residents have real health concerns about the dust being produced. This website is for our residents and business owners to share their concerns.
